The Knowledge Vine networking system is operated by UMIP (The University of Manchester’s agent for  intellectual property commercialisation) -  a division of The University of Manchester I3 Ltd, (www.umi3.com) in the UK. It is operated on behalf of UMIP by Carbon First Ltd, www.carbonfirst.co.uk

Previously known as the "The Knowledge Pool", The Knowledge Vine system was started in October 2006 to support the process of technology commercialisation in the University sector. Having proven itself as a very effective generic networking technique it is progressively expanding into other business sectors
